Membership is open to all individuals who are engaged in travel, transportation, lodging and associated professions.

Mission

To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas as we promote members’ growth and development through education and involvement. We present programs and opportunities to enhance the professionalism of our members and their employer organizations on issues which affect business while advancing knowledge through monthly seminars, lectures, events, publicity and other educational means.

Membership Categories

Direct Membership - Persons employed with a corporation for the prime purpose of procuring travel services for the employees of the corporation, or is responsible for administering the travel policies of the corporation. Shall have voting rights.

Allied Membership - Business Travel industry representatives for car rentals, hotel/motel, airlines, travel management firms or agencies, rail, charter, air companies, limo, steamship, bus, and other travel related suppliers. Shall have voting rights.

Associate Membership - Travel related support services, including consultants, credit card vendors, employees of governmental, regulatory agencies, Chamber of Commerce, and/or Visitors Convention Bureaus. Shall have voting rights.

Honorary Lifetime Membership - Honorary life membership shall be for retired persons from travel related positions. Honorary memberships are Board recommended and approved. Shall not have voting rights.

Special Honoraries - Former members who have been strong supporters of SVBTA and have actively participated in board roles. Special Honorary memberships are Board recommended and approved. Shall not have voting rights.

Membership Dues:
$95.00     New Member
$80.00     Renewal
$55.00     Name Change (change membership to another person's name within the same company)

Membership must be in an individual's name, however, the ownership of the membership remains with the sponsoring company. Should the individual designated as the member leave the company, the company may request a name change for a fee. Should the individual join another company, they must either request a name change as the member of their new company (provided a membership already exists), or become a new member for that company.

Non-members are only allowed to attend up to 3 events in one calendar year before they must join as a member.

.        Programs and Education. SVBTA devotes the bulk of our resources to the education and professional skill development of our members. Understanding that corporate business travel is at the crossroads of change, SVBTA believes that a complete and intimate knowledge of the travel industry is crucial to the success of its members. Throughout the year, educational programs are held on a wide variety of topics affecting business travel management; from new developments in technology to changes in local and national purchasing trends.

·        Networking. Success in any business begins with establishing relationships among professionals in its industry. By actively participating in bi-monthly meetings and other exciting events, SVBTA members network and establish the professional relationships necessary for success. Promoting the healthy exchange of ideas and information, SVBTA enthusiastically welcomes the challenges of the 21^st Century and vigorously represents and supports the needs and interests of those involved in the fields of business travel.

·        Volunteerism and Leadership. At the core of the Chapter are volunteers who compose our officers and committees. Accomplished and respected professionals in the travel management industry, they focus on specific issues which will affect our members. Because we are a collective of interested and motivated individuals, our members have the opportunity to actively participate in the functioning of SVBTA, gain the experience to grow professionally and assume leadership positions. By providing an information network where those pursuing careers in travel management can associate closely with industry leaders on important issues, SVBTA is the ideal venue for individuals of all abilities and backgrounds to work together and effect real and lasting change in an important aspect of the local business community.
